About Us
Brian Jackson College is an Alternative Provision supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. We welcome students who have found that mainstream education isn’t for them and are facing exclusion. The colleges, located in Huddersfield and Heckmondwike, support pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
Our aim is to inspire all our pupils to be motivated and successful citizens, equipped to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow. We have created a positive environment that offers a fresh start and encourages and promotes pupils’ academic, social, moral, spiritual and cultural learning.

We are extremely proud of the work that we do and the outcomes we achieve for young people in Kirklees and surrounding areas.
Our June 2023 Ofsted report praised the school for its strong “family feel” caring relationships, and effective support for pupils’ social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
One parent stated “My son loves coming to this college, he enjoys everything because of how they help you to learn and grow. I’ve seen a really big change in him and see he is happy for the first time at any school”.
